Night Time in Dublin

A rainy day today here in Dublin, but it cleared up for a bit on our way out for dinner. On our way home we ducked in for a Guinness, at least I did, Asha kept me company at our great seats that overlooked the busy street. We sure enjoyed watching the people, complete with wet streets, umbrellas and a well placed cigarette....photo ops!!!

On our way home we walked by a few other interesting buildings...

... the modern tram....

...and a person waiting with an umbrella.

This is where we ate last night, high above the city with a view of the sunset. No rain :-)

A small French bistro with interesting lighting, Asha being a good sport.

Colorful and Exciting Dublin!

My friend Asha and I have been in Ireland for a week, our first trip to the Emerald Isle for both of us, exploring as much as we can on our 10 day trip from Boston. There is enough to keep anyone busy for a few months, everywhere we've been is beautiful!!
My camera and I have been working overtime, and even though I've taken over 2000 images, the blogging has not been done, even with the best of intentions.
Today we're in Dublin, an exciting and colorful city, and here are the things that caught my eye. Hopefully I will also post the gorgeous countryside we've seen before our time in the big city.
The days are speeding by, as with any vacation, and we've been fortunate to have excellent weather, fine food and to have met very friendly people. If you're thinking of visiting, do it, you won't be disappointed!! It's justifiably a popular place and every country seems to be represented from the many languages we've heard and folks we've met.

Trinity College, a big event today with much excitement about an upcoming football game involving Boston College.

A bridge over River Liffey

So helpful to have this written out on many crosswalks!

Tourists playing in Merrion Square

A cool looking bird in St Stephen's Green

Working men taking a break, Irish version of older men on a bench you see in Italy???

Trump really gets around

Do I have a deal for you...

Yep, Trump again, this time with Obama. The Paddypower store was next door.

Getting ready for the big game today with Boston College

River Liffey

The infamous Temple Bar... or one of them in an area known as Temple Bar

Lots of shopping going on, too :-)

Boston's Back Bay with Photography Friends in August

I seem to get into Boston much less since we permanently moved to Plymouth 4 years ago, but I love going to the big city with my photography friends like we did last night. There were 14 of us from my photography club, Plymouth Digital Photographers, and some of us were there from 5pm to past midnight... wild and crazy :-)
It was a perfect weather night and I loved every minute of it. We post photos on our Facebook and PDP's photo albums, it's great fun seeing everyone's different views of the places we visited
 along the way.
Here's what I came up with, using my Leica X.

Staying out of the sun at the Christian Science Center Park.

Donna, Wayne, Vic, Marianne and Bob left to right.

Random people that just got really tired and had to lay down.

Christian Science Church.

James, Donna and Vic finding something interesting up above.

Maura and Donna comparing their Olympus OM-D Cameras.

The reflection of Trinity Church in the John Hancock tower needed something, and I found this great couple on the bench to put in the foreground.

Copley Square was named after this artist.

Sneaking up....

 Great glass buildings.

Jeremie, Donna, Nancy, Bob, James, Vic, Donna and Maura all working it.

Boston Gardens at the blue hour.

A little construction.

Long exposure... see the ghost legs?

Berklee College of Music students doing their thing in black and white. They were very relaxed and didn't seem to even notice their photo was being taken.

Ian Home for the Weekend in Plymouth!

Some photos from Ian's visit home to Plymouth this weekend, thought I'd post them before I go back to the Spain images. I love having him around, fun to indulge him and us for a few days. Thankfully he's a good sport about having me pointing a camera at him, he's had lots of practice!
Portraits and a few other details from the last 2 days, the portraits seem to have the most staying power....

Ian managed to fit in some birding this weekend, and he took us to the bluff at Manomet for a last look of the day, a beautiful evening!!

A few birds added for fun. A woman came up to us and asked said something about the "camera" Ian was using... he said the scope is mistaken for a camera all the time. Surprised me!!

Some good feasting was enjoyed, with good beer! Joe made a 10 avocado guacamole, and it's so nice we all love plant based food.

Stalking the wild creatures in the attic at the cottage. Surprise!! They didn't see them, but looks like maybe a squirrel family?

Adding textures to make a grunge family portrait.

Ramps!
Ian brought them home from a friend who lives in the Berkshires, delicious and hard to find.

The cottage getting ready to bust out all over.

Close up of the photo below.

Which do you like best?

Joe bought me pretty tulips.

Testing, one two three....waiting for me.

The final take :-)

An out take, too....
