Shooting with Friends on the Waterfront in Plymouth

We had a meetup of my camera club last night at the Office Bistro in Plymouth, and spent an hour or so making photos in the rain out front on the waterfront. Lots of great reflections, rain coming down steadily, darkness at 5pm. The car lights, street lights and other shiny surfaces made for some great images, add in an umbrella or 2 and you have a group of people having fun with their cameras capturing what caught our eye. I love the challenge of night photography!
We headed inside for some food and drink in a very comfortable bar, I enjoyed the evening very much with my photo peeps!

This was taken with my Canon 6D through the windshield of my car when I parked.

Steven being a good sport and model. I processed this with a texture in Photoshop.

Car splashing water, me panning with a slow shutter speed.

Another umbrella shot.

 Stepping outside for a cigarette.

Mark and Sean with rain, dark and opportunities!

Ken cosy inside checking out the menu.

Not sure how this bokeh hovered above the plate, a happy accident.

On the way home I shot this through my windshield as I slowed down at a traffic light, lucky shot.

Holidays on the Green at Pinehills, Plymouth, MA

A yearly tradition at Pinehills is the Holidays on the Green, and December 5th was the perfect day for it. Craftsmen and local artisans selling their goods, Santa, face painting, and the very popular Reindog parade.
For a comprehensive list of the many activities offered, check out this listing here: http://www.pinehills.com/news/events/2015-holidays-on-the-green
I was hired to photograph the events of the day and enjoyed it immensely, everyone out and about having a great time in a beautiful place!
Hope you like seeing the photos as much as I delighted in making them.

People love their dogs, such devotion to their pals was good to see.

It was a family affair kind of day.

This puppy was irresistible, so soft and cuddly, she was in the top 3 winners.

These beautiful Greyhounds won first place, well dressed and behaved.

Also in the top 3 winner category, sweet dog. Nice people, too!!

Handsome couple checking out the goods at the Animal Shelter table.

The scene at the Green.

The children grabbed every dog that let them, they were too compelling to resist.

One well dressed boy, he's styling'.

Best expression winner in my book!

 Santa in the Post Office.

These carolers were troopers, walking around all day singing away.

A moment.

Another really cute dog, what a great face!

Towards the end of the day, after the main events were over. But before.....

Ian's 24th Birthday in Ithaca, NY

The original title of this blog was "Where are Amy and Ian now?" The blog can still be found searching with that title and here's an update to the question. Ian is happily working in Ithaca, New York at Cornell Lab of Ornithology, for eBird. He's making a difference for birders and birding in a field he loves... birds and nature! I couldn't be happier for him or more proud of how he has found his way to turning his passion into fulfilling work.

As Ian was going to be in Texas representing eBird at a birding festival for his actual birthday, Joe and I went for a fun 6 day visit to Ithaca early in November. A wonderful visit, it's a lovely part of our grand country, and a very photogenic place, too!

Love!

Splash! Watkins Glenn has great waterfalls and trails.

Two women looking terrific out hiking at Watkins Glenn

Contemplative moment

Embarrassing the one you love :-)

Not your usual birthday photo...

 Best friends Luke and Ian

They have gotten used to being photographed by me, it's been about 12 years...

Serious business this turning 24.

Gotta have a cake and candles
