Testing out a New App for Making Blogger Posts

I'm giving the BlogTouch app a try, let's see how it posts this blog. All the images are from my iPhone and I'm using my iPad to make the post, no laptop involved.

The app was free yesterday, found it on Apps Gone Free, another free app that posts the best free ones everyday. This app, BlogTouch, is for both iPhone and iPad users that have Blogger blogs.

Here's what happened, I accidentally posted this post via the BlogTouch app on my other blog "Amy and Ian's Ecuadorian Adventures". I tried to post it again on this blog, but couldn't do it via BlogTouch. So I have to conclude operator error on not sending it to the correct blog, and I'll try again. It looks good on the Ecuadorian blog! I made it appear on this blog (using my laptop) by selecting the entire post while in edit format on the Ecuadorian blog, then pasting it here into a new post. Worked.

Beaches

Just a few of the beaches I've been lucky enough to spend time on this summer. I used the theme 'beaches' as our assignment for an iPhone group that meets once a month or so, we had some creative entries. Beaches are one of my favorite places, especially when it's not windy!

Gorgeous Sunset Last Night on Plymouth Beach!

Last minute yesterday after dinner Ian said, "Want to drive down to Plymouth Beach and see the birds and sunset?"  What a great idea that turned out to be! The birds Ian was looking for turned out to be just out of of optic reach, but we were treated to baby Piping Plovers and other beauties, including this sunset.

I only had my iPhone with me, but the photos turned out Ok with a little Snapseed app applied.

As to where Ian is, it's wonderful having him home with us in Plymouth after he was working for 7 weeks in Alaska on a Shorebird Research project with Manomet Center for Conservation Sciences and the US Fish and Wildlife Service in the Canning River Delta. He'll be heading back to college over Labor Day weekend for his junior year. 

After helping with our move and painting a lot of rooms in our new home :-)

Wise Words from a Judge in New Zealand - for Young People and Adults

I shake my head in disbelief at some of the things judges say ... but this hit the mark:

"Northland College (NZ) principal John Tapene has offered the following words from a judge who regularly deals with youth.

"Always we hear the cry from teenagers 'What can we do, where can we go?'
... My answer is, "Go home, mow the lawn, wash the windows, learn to cook, build a raft, get a job, visit the sick, study your lessons, and after you've finished, read a book."

"Your town does not owe you recreational facilities and your parents do not owe you fun. The world does not owe you a living, you owe the world something. You owe it your time, energy and talent so that no one will be at war, in poverty or sick and lonely again."

"In other words, grow up, stop being a cry baby, get out of your dream world and develop a backbone, not a wishbone. Start behaving like a responsible person. You are important and you are needed. It's too late to sit around and wait for somebody to do something someday. Someday is now and that somebody is you...""

You need to change some of the wording a bit, but this does apply to adults, too. 

PDP (Plymouth Digital Photographers) 3rd Year Anniversary Party

On a beautiful, warm, clear Saturday evening, July 7th, about 45 photography friends  (PDP link) gathered at Plymouth Beach for a party celebrating our 3 years as a photo club. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening, great light, lovely children, talented and friendly photographers and spinning, burning fireballs! Everyone brought a dessert to share, their cameras and tripods and we were a very happy bunch!!
