A Thursday in April in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain

I spent a very pleasant morning walking around observing people going about their daily routines in Jerez de la Frontera. My camera of choice was my Canon 6D with an older Lensbaby Composer fitted with a star burst shaped aperture, that's how the points of light in some of the images have a star burst shape, all done by the camera... and the photographer. Sometimes a happy mistake :-)
The blurred edges are a result of the Lensbaby lens, an effect I enjoy playing with.

The outdoor market is always my favorite place and happens every morning in Jerez.

This baby's grandfather gave me permission to take the photo. I love the baby's 'who are you?' look.

Life in Plaza del Salvador, Seville

More images on the theme of people in the streets of Seville. Since I'm mostly walking in the streets that's where I see people, sometimes inside in the bars and restaurants. Outside is the preferred place to be, and in this city everyone else seems to think the same way!
Most of these are taken in Plaza del Salvador, we are often there, great area of activity.

The most charming Spanish father and daughter, we shared a beer in Plaza del Salvador. She attends a private all English school and spoke English in the most delightful way. She and I bought Macarena pins together, check out her coat.

I call this "Then and Now". The young boy will be an older man someday, and the man was once a young boy. He may be looking for his younger self...

Two well dressed brothers running wild in the plaza.

 Love the earrings!

 Another view of the plaza.

Old time look, the plaza has been here long before photography.

He looks like a bad guy in a movie, Snape in the Harry Potter movie??

Very creative haircuts/sideburns in Seville.

They were happy to pose for me, amigos!

Another bachelorette party, having a good time!

Close to full moon, near the Cathedral.

They kept track of our drinks and tapas by writing with chalk directly on the bar, new one on me.

Slow shutter speed, I liked the happy accident.

Beautiful evening last night!

Dinner under the orange trees.

Happy child.

Everyday People in Seville

I do love capturing people in their natural habitat... kind of like wildlife photography. You have to be patient, quick and there are a ton of throw aways!
Here are a few I've taken here in Seville, Spain over the last week.

Some very stylish people live and walk around this town.

And some catch me and mug for the camera, nice!

Not as many dogs as in smaller towns, but they are welcome at bars and cafes.

Stepping out.

Un poco cafe?

The only person I've seen with a white mask on.

The Barrio area of Seville.

My Hometown and America's Hometown Thanksgiving Parade, Plymouth, MA.

Joe and I photographed the annual Thanksgiving parade in downtown Plymouth yesterday, if you follow his blog you'll see his fine images, too.
And we weren't the only ones there with a camera!!!
Americans love their cameras, and there's no better place for seeing people having a good time together than a parade, with lots of action, color, floats and costumes to try and capture. Families, children, dogs and everyone out and about all over town. It was a happening!!
Another fun day in the sunshine with my camera.

Have you seen my teeth???

Biggest American Flag I've seen!

Patriots Fan and his Dog, both willing and nice about having their photo  taken.

Boy and Blue balloon

A flash of a second, unknown girl

The parade begins

She was sitting inside a store in their window, I walked by, this is what I saw.

A better view

An even better view!

Loved the shadows

I took this with my iPhone, towards the end of the parade.

Using Pano mode on my iPhone...stretched the train out!
